Jonathan’s Landing, Jupiter: A Guide to the Intracoastal Golf and Boating Community (2026)

Jonathan’s Landing is a gated golf and boating community south of Indiantown Road, between Alternate A1A and the Intracoastal Waterway. Its mailing addresses read Jupiter, but it sits in unincorporated Palm Beach County.

A purchase here can involve several organizations: your village’s association, the property owners’ association (POA), the club if you join, and the marina if you keep a boat there. This guide covers each one, plus the transfer fee set by a 2026 amendment. For the wider market, see our guide to luxury real estate in Jupiter.

Key takeaways

  • Jonathan’s Landing has about 1,234 homes in 27 villages on 606.2 acres, according to the POA.
  • Its mailing addresses read Jupiter, but it’s in unincorporated Palm Beach County.
  • Club membership is optional. The Village course, inside the community, was renovated in 2024 by Beau Welling Design.
  • Some villages have private docks, and the marina’s operator lists 257 dry-stack slips.
  • A 2026 declaration amendment sets a transfer fee, paid by or on behalf of the buyer to the POA, with three exemptions.

Where is Jonathan’s Landing, and is it in the Town of Jupiter?

Jonathan’s Landing is in unincorporated Palm Beach County, outside the Town of Jupiter, though its mailing addresses read Jupiter. The Property Appraiser’s record for the club’s golf course parcel, at 16823 Captain Kirle Drive, lists its municipality as “UNINCORPORATED” (Palm Beach County Property Appraiser).

The community stretches about one and a quarter miles south of Indiantown Road, between Alternate A1A and the Intracoastal Waterway. The POA puts it at 606.2 acres, including 125 acres of lakes and waterways (Jonathan’s Landing POA).

The jurisdiction matters because rules written for the Town of Jupiter may not apply here. Check the parcel’s record for any home you’re considering, and take permit or zoning questions to Palm Beach County.

What kinds of homes are in Jonathan’s Landing?

The POA counts approximately 1,234 homes across 27 villages: 18 villages of single-family homes, five of condominiums and four of townhomes. Each village has its own homeowners’ or condominium association and board of directors (Jonathan’s Landing POA).

That shapes the paperwork: a purchase involves both your village’s association and the POA, and rules and dues can differ between villages. Read the specific village’s documents too.

What golf does the club offer?

Jonathan’s Landing Golf Club runs three courses at two locations. At the Village, it lists the Village Golf Course, renovated by Beau Welling Design in 2024, plus 10 Har-Tru tennis courts, 6 pickleball courts, a 13,000-square-foot wellness center and two restaurants (Jonathan’s Landing Golf Club).

The Village course is the one inside Jonathan’s Landing, which the club calls a gated, golf cart-accessible community. The club says the course’s signature 17th hole features a ferry boat ride over the Intracoastal Waterway (Jonathan’s Landing Golf Club).

The other two courses are at Old Trail, a second campus in what the club calls a Jupiter Farms setting. There, the club lists The Match as renovated by Gil Hanse and Jim Wagner in 2021 (Jonathan’s Landing Golf Club), and its golf page describes The Medal as a Tom Fazio design (Jonathan’s Landing Golf Club).

For homes on or near a fairway, see our buyer’s guide to golf course homes.

Do you have to join the club?

No. The POA describes Jonathan’s Landing as a residential golf and boating community and says residents enjoy a full array of amenities through optional club memberships (Jonathan’s Landing POA).

The club says it offers four memberships. Golf members also get the racquets program, wellness center and social events. The Executive membership is a category the club says is crafted for members under 45, covering three golf courses, tennis and pickleball, a fitness center, a spa and social events (Jonathan’s Landing Golf Club).

This guide doesn’t quote membership fees or dues, because they change. Ask the club for them in writing, along with what happens to a membership when you sell.

Can you keep a boat at Jonathan’s Landing?

Yes, at a private dock in some villages, or in dry storage at the marina on Casseekey Island Road.

Private docks in some villages

The POA’s village descriptions list docks in several villages (Jonathan’s Landing POA):

  • Barrow Island: 22 homes on navigable salt water, with private boat docks.
  • Bay Head: six homes, each with a private dock on a saltwater channel connected to the Intracoastal Waterway.
  • Jonathan’s Island: 17 home sites, 14 of them on navigable salt water. The other three face the golf course, with docks steps away.
  • The Harbour: eleven sites, each with a dock on navigable salt water.

Those are general descriptions, so confirm the dock for any specific home: its condition, permits, depth at low tide and any rules on its use. Our guide to coastal home maintenance covers dock and seawall upkeep.

The marina on Casseekey Island Road

Loggerhead Marinas runs the marina at 3238 Casseekey Island Road as its Jupiter Marina. The operator lists 257 dry-stack slips, a fuel dock, a marine center and pump-out service, and says the marina is minutes from the Jupiter Inlet (Loggerhead Marinas). Ask the marina about slip availability and terms.

The POA calls it the JL Marina and notes a private restaurant there, Out of the Blue, open to residents for dinner on Mondays from May through mid-October (Jonathan’s Landing POA).

The route to the inlet

Jonathan’s Landing lies south of Indiantown Road and west of the Intracoastal, so boats bound for the Jupiter Inlet head north through the Indiantown Road drawbridge. Check its current openings and clearance against your boat before you buy.

Under Florida’s administrative code, all backwaters, canals and tributaries off Lake Worth Creek, including the waterbody known as Jonathan’s Landing, are slow speed year-round (Rule 68C-22.009, Florida Administrative Code).

For comparison, see our guides to the types of waterfront in Palm Beach County and Admirals Cove.

What does the property owners’ association provide?

Apart from the club, the POA lists its own amenities (Jonathan’s Landing POA):

  • South Rec Park, which has fresh water on one side and salt water on the other, with two bocce courts and a playground.
  • Three waterfront pavilions, plus more pavilions in South Rec Park.
  • Catch-and-release fishing on the fresh and salt waterways.
  • Kayak racks on Butterfly Island and across from the marina. Space is limited, and POA registration is required.
  • A dog park near the North Gate.

For beaches and parks beyond the gates, see our guide to outdoor and beach spots in Jupiter.

How does the 2026 transfer fee work?

Under a declaration amendment recorded April 29, 2026, a Real Estate Transfer Fee is due to the POA upon transfer of record title to a parcel, lot or unit. It’s paid by or on behalf of the transferee, meaning the buyer, and equals four quarters of the POA’s annual General Assessments in effect at the time of sale (Jonathan’s Landing POA).

The money goes into a segregated account that can’t fund the POA’s operating or reserve expenses, only enhancements or new amenities its board approves. The amendment took effect 30 days after recording, and three kinds of transfer are exempt:

  • By bequest, devise or inheritance.
  • To the transferring owner’s spouse, or to a trust for the benefit of the owner or that spouse.
  • To someone who has been a record title owner of a parcel, lot or unit in Jonathan’s Landing within the previous 24 months.

This guide doesn’t give a dollar figure, because the fee depends on the POA’s General Assessments at the time of sale, not on village dues or club costs. Confirm the current amount with the POA, and see our guide to closing costs for Florida buyers for the rest.

What should you check before you buy?

Start with the association documents. As a general rule, Florida law says, “A prospective parcel owner in a community must be presented a disclosure summary before executing the contract for sale” (s. 720.401, Florida Statutes). If it isn’t provided first, the purchaser may void the contract by written notice within 3 days after receiving the summary or before closing, whichever occurs first.

Five villages are condominiums, according to the POA. If the home is in one, ask for the condominium association’s documents too, and have a Florida real estate attorney review the full set before you sign.
